Vigil: The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Friday, Aug 14
The Vigil of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary invites us to prepare our hearts to celebrate one of the Church's greatest Marian feasts. On this evening, we reflect on Mary's faithful "yes" to God's will and her unique role in the history of salvation. As we gather in prayer, we give thanks for the gift of her Assumption into heaven, body and soul, and ask for her loving intercession so that we, too, may faithfully follow Christ and one day share in the joy of eternal life.

We celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a joyful feast honoring Mary's being assumed body and soul into heavenly glory. Her Assumption reminds us of God's promise of eternal life and the hope of the resurrection for all who faithfully follow Christ. As we gather to celebrate this Eucharist, let us thank God for the gift of Mary, our loving Mother and faithful disciple, and ask for her intercession as we strive to live lives of faith, hope, and love.
