Mass Intentions
What Are Mass Intentions?
A Mass intention is a special prayer request offered during the celebration of the Holy Mass. Catholics may request a Mass to be offered for a loved one who has died, for someone who is ill, in thanksgiving for blessings received, for a special occasion, or for any particular need or intention.
The practice of offering Mass intentions is a long-standing tradition in the Catholic Church, rooted in the belief that the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the most powerful prayer we can offer to God.
To request a Mass intention, please visit the parish office. A customary offering may be made, but no one is ever denied a Mass intention because of an inability to give an offering.
