It’s unthinkable, but every year thousands of children become victims of crimes, whether through kidnappings, violent attacks, sexual abuse, or online predators (FBI).
While adults who groom children online are often strangers, this is not always the case. In many circumstances, the child may have met a groomer through family or other connections, and the adults build a relationship with the child online (Kraut).
Aunque uno no lo crea, cada año pasa lo impensable: miles de niños son víctimas de secuestros, actos violentos, abuso sexual o incluso de depredadores en línea.
Aunque es más probable que los depredadores en línea sean desconocidos, esto no siempre es el caso.
En muchas ocasiones, los depredadores están más cerca de lo que parece; pueden ser un familiar u otro conocido, ya sea en persona o en línea.
Why is it important?
As Catholic adults, we have a moral and legal responsibility and are entrusted by God with the spiritual, emotional and physical well being of minors and vulnerable adults as they participate in activities within or sponsored by our Diocese. It is our responsibility and commitment to provide an environment which is safe and nurturing.

Cuando ellos participan en actividades dentro de, o patrocinadas por, nuestra diócesis, es nuestra responsabilidad y compromiso proveer un ambiente seguro y acogedor.
